How to Make a Fruit Smoothie

Making a fruit smoothie is as easy as one, two, three…………well maybe four.

Add your fruits, your liquid base, your boost, blend until smooth………you are done.


Fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals that are necessary for maintaining good health. They are also a great source of fiber.

Use a variety of fruits of your choice to make your smoothie. If you are feeling a bit lazy and and can’t bother to cut up several different fruits, do what I do.

Grab a bag of frozen mixed fruits.

Don’t forget the banana however.  It is a key ingredient in many smoothies.

When your bananas get all spotty and brown, do not throw them out.  Peel them and store in the freezer.


Liquid base

This can be water,





almond milk,

coconut milk,


coconut milk


or fruit juice.

These are just suggestions.  Feel free to experiment and add other liquids of your choice.



Add a  handful of nuts and seeds to make a more nutritious and filling smoothie.  These nuts and seeds will provide essential fatty acids needed for good health.

You can add almonds, cashews, chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds……….whichever seeds you desire.

Easy Fruit Smoothie Recipe

1 cup mixed frozen fruits

1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen)

1 cup almond milk

1 tbsp ground flaxseed


Add all the ingredients to the blender. (My workhorse is the Nutribullet)

Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute until smooth.

1 cup coconut milk

5 large strawberries

1/2 cup pineapple chunks

1 ripe banana

1 tbsp chia seeds

3 cubes ice


Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.


Easy Fruit Smoothie Recipe #3

1 cup frozen blueberries

1 ripe banana

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1/2 cup milk


Place ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.


Easy Fruit Smoothie Recipe #4

1/2 cup mango (cut in chunks)

1/2 cup pineapple

1 ripe banana

1 cup apple juice

1 tbsp soaked pumpkin seeds


Blend all ingredients together until smooth.


Easy Fruit Smoothie Recipe #5

1 cup mixed fruits (as many varieties as possible)

1 ripe banana

1 cup water

3 cubes ice

1 teaspoon honey


Blend all ingredients until smooth.


Now you are a fruit smoothie expert.

There you have it. Easy as one, two , three……..four.

No holding you back now. Go ahead and churn out those delicious, nutritious fruit smoothies and enjoy.

  1. Hello Anne, I don’t like smoothies with yogurt, although if made correctly, I probably wouldn’t even know the difference. I love almond milk lately, so I would make a smoothie with bananas, almond milk, cashews, peanut butter and honey. How does that sound? I think I’ll make one of those and see how it tastes!     • That sounds interesting. As a matter of fact, I have all those ingredients in my kitchen right now. I think I will try it too.

      By the way, have you ever tried pumpkin and peanut butter? Mmmm. Just pumpkin (cooked), peanut butter, water and sweetener. If you eat pumpkin, give it a try.

You make enjoying smoothies much easier with your step by step instructions and recipes, I never knew you could freeze your brown spotted bananas and use them in your smoothies this is a great banana saver. Often my bananas start to ripen quicker than I am eating them, I have to eat them right away or throw some away this will prevent me from having to do either one.

    • No more need for the banana race i.e. trying to eat them as fast as possible before they go all speckled and brown. Store as much as you want in the freezer. Another nice thing to is that the browner they are, the sweeter they are so there is less need for any other sweetener.
