Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite

carrots and carrot juice
I haven’t juiced in a long while. It is not because I don’t like juicing. Quite the contrary. I love fresh vegetable and fruit juices.

As a matter of fact I look with longing and envy at all those lovely juices that are done on YouTube and I wonder “why not me”. The problem is, I don’t have a juicer. I did have one some time ago but it just did not do what those fancy ones on YouTube are able to accomplish.

First of all I could hardly get any juice out of my juicer. When I looked on YouTube, I see someone put in two to four medium carrots in their juicer they get a good 4 or 5 ounces of pure, clear, carrot juice. When I did the same, I would get 2 ounces of pure sediments.

When it was time to clean that juicer…boy oh boy. What a pain it was. Disassembling the juicer was quite a task. Getting the sediments out of the strainer was quite another task. The whole process that was involved in trying to get some juice, and the reward received was certainly not worth the effort.

Should I give up on juicing completely. The answer is a resounding no.

Fruits and vegetables are high in vitamins and minerals. Drinking juices is a way of ensuring that we get the necessary nutrients needed by the body to boost overall health. Many times we find ourselves guilty of not eating sufficient amounts of fruits and vegetables. We find it hard to get our 5 to 8 servings per day. This is where juicing plays a big role.

It is true that it is much better to eat the whole food but in cases where you fall short or you don’t have the appetite to do so, juicing is a good method to utilize. Also, there is no need to stock up on sodas and other unhealthy drinks when you can have fresh, natural, unprocessed, delicious juice from your extractor.

What I should have done a long time ago was to toss out the juice extractor that I had and get a good brand of juicer that would give me the results that I see on YouTube.

You too can have delicious, healthy juices.

Have you had any of these issues? Is your juicer performing less than desirable? Well what you need is a good brand of juicer that will give you the results you require.

I have been recently introduced to a brand by my friend and I must say I am most impressed by the performance of this juice extractor. I was particularly impressed with the volume that was produced by a small amount of fruits and vegetables and also the smoothness of the juice. There were no pulp and sediments and she didn’t have to strain the juice. Let me share with you this high quality, high performance juice extractor that is perfect for your juicing needs.

Introducing the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite.

Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite

The Breville 800 Juice Fountain Elite is a great-looking juice extractor. Although it takes up a bit of space (it is 17 inches tall by 16 inches wide including the juice container) it really looks classy sitting on your counter top. The stainless steel body gives it a modern, state-of-the-art look.

The juicer does not have a lot of buttons and switches to confuse you. It has one simple on and off switch, as well as a toggle switch which is used to choose between its two speeds. The high speed is used for hard foods such as carrots and the low speed for soft foods such as pineapple. Its 1000 Watts makes this a powerful and fast juicer providing you with lots of juice in a very short time.

Few Parts. No worries.

Breville 800 Juice Fountain Elite has only a few parts which makes it easy to assemble an extremely easy to clean as well. The parts consist of;

  • the motor base which is the body of the instrument,
  • the filter bowl,
  • the filter basket,
  • the juicer cover,
  • the pulp container,
  • the food pusher and
  • the juice container/pitcher

Assembly is easy

Assembling the Breville Juice Fountain takes just about 30 seconds.

  • To begin the filter bowl is place on top of the motor base.
  • Next, the mesh filter is positioned inside the filter bowl.
  • The juicer cover is then placed on top.
  • The pulp container is placed underneath the part of the juice cover, that extends from the main body of the juicer.
  • The juice container is set so that the spout fits inside the container.
  • The food pusher fits inside the chute until ready for use
  • Of course the instruction manual that comes with the juicer will tell you how to align everything so that they fit.

Even though the juicer will work without installing the juice container or even using the food pusher, it is recommended that you actually do use them. Yes you might want to just put your glass right under the spout and catch the juice directly in your glass, but chances are you might end up with spillage so it is best to use all parts that are included.

Washing up

I know we always fear when it is time to clean up our kitchen appliances but washing up the Breville 800 Juice Fountain is a breeze. Just remove the parts in the same order that they were assembled and wash them in the sink using a microfiber cloth.

A simple method is to wash as you disassemble. That is, you wash the pusher and the juice container first. You can then do the pulp container. Next remove the juicer cover and wash that. Lastly, remove the filter and filter bowl and wash those. In this way you are not overwhelmed with everything being packed in the sink all at once.

It helps to soak the filter in water for a little while before washing. It is not necessary. It just makes the process a little easier. Cleaning the filter was one of my main problems with my old juicer. The food particles were stuck all over the filter and would not come out no matter how hard I tried. This is not the case with the Breville 800 however. The filter washes easily and the brush that comes with the juicer helps a lot in this process.

One neat idea that helps with cleanup is to place a plastic bag in the pulp container before juicing so that when you are done, all you have to do is discard the plastic bag and your pulp container will be clean.

Easy to operate

This juicer is extremely easy to use.

Just switch on with the on and off switch.

Set the speed that you want (low speed for softer fruits high speed for the harder fruits).

Place your fruit or vegetable in the chute at the top of the machine.

Use the pusher to push your food down onto the blade.

Watch the delicious juice flowing out from the spout into your juice container

Because the chute is so large, there is no need to spend a lot of time cutting up your food into small pieces. As a matter of fact you can place whole apples and whole carrots etc. into the chute.

Of course, you would see which fruits you cannot put in whole. You would probably just need to cut them in half so they can fit in the chute. However, the fact that you can put in these large pieces makes the process very efficient and saves you time that you would have used in preparing the food for processing.

Also, because this is a centrifugal juicer there is not the danger of jamming the filter basket like in other types of juicers. The fast rotating filter basket just absolutely disseminates any produce it comes in contact with.

The Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite is very durable. It is constructed of heavy grade stainless steel. The stainless steel filter basket and titanium reinforced cutting blade also adds to the quality and durability of this machine.

Even the on and off buttons and the toggle switch are of exceptionally high-quality.

The 1000 watt motor provides loss of power for this juicer and causes it to be effective and efficient in its performance.

Some drawbacks

It takes up a lot of space

If you have a small kitchen or you are short on counter space the presence of this 17 inches tall and 16 inches wide appliance will really be noticed.

It’s a bit on the noisy side

I suppose a 1000W motor will come with more sound than we are accustomed to.

It is not as effective when juicing leafy greens

You really have to bunch up your greens and fill the chute up to get it to juice well and even then some of the pieces shoot through to the pulp container unprocessed.

It’s a bit pricey

The Breville 800 JEXL Juice Fountain Elite is a bit more costly than other juice extractors.

In the long-term however, you will end up saving because of the efficiency of this juicer. Because of its high performance, this juicer gives greater yield per quantity of produce than other juicers. This means that you won’t have to buy as many fruits and vegetables to give you the amount of juice that you want.

There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be able to enjoy delicious, nutritious, freshly juiced fruits and vegetables. With the powerful, easy to use Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite you can be sure to get your 5 to 8 servings of fruits and vegetables every day.
